I've eaten at Zuccarelli a number of times. They seem to be best known for their pizza, however, of the pizza and pizza slices I've had, though good enough, nothing I'd be inclined to rave about. People also seem to know them for chicken wings, but of the ones I've had, I'd be inclined to avoid in the future. Where I do find them shining are in some of their other foods and they have an exhaustive menu offering with plenty of them, and in their specials of the day. Along those lines, I found their appetizer of "Clams Organata" and, when they have it, any one of their fresh snapper dishes to be particularly good. On my most recent visit, my basis for this review, I went for their Veal Francese, $15.95, which was a pretty good deal in that it included a good salad, garlic rolls and a side of spaghetti which they will do up just about any way you might like it. I had my salad with a house Italian dressing which came on the side, meaning you pour it on yourself. The dressing was zesty in taste and the salad itself fresh and well composed of the basics of onion, lettuce and tomato. The veal francese came with the veal being tender, breaded over and covered with a good fresh to the taste sauce combo base of butter, lemon and white wine. It was also of good portion size, being five slices of tender, you could cut it with your fork, veal. My pasta, which I order as simple garlic and olive oil, came perfectly al dente in texture with the garlic having been just right and the oil itself with having a pleasant cooked in garlic flavor to it. Beyond the dishes I've mentioned the two other things that make me a fan of Zuccarelli is that I've always experienced the friendliest of service with a seemingly happy, humorous, rather uplifting and pleasant wait staff. Also when ordering wine, I've found the glass to be full; none of this nonsense half glass pour so common to other restaurants.

We've only been living in this area for a month, and we've ordered food from this restaurant 4 times, enjoying it every time. We've tried their lasagna as well as their spaghetti and pizza. I love their salad dressing and the garlic rolls are delicious. This is our favorite Italian eatery so far. Prices are great for the amount of food served.

Ordered take out last night. 2 pies, Eggplant parmigiana, snapper francese and a caprese salad. Everything was great, especially the snapper. Very busy on a Saturday night, but take out was still done in a very timely manner. Well done!!!!

Went there for date night with the gf who was in a weird mood, so I decided to see how this place could diffuse the situation. We walked in and were greeted by people behind the counter to our right, which is where they handle the take-out orders (of which there were many). We were seated immediately, an we started perusing the menu. I kind of wanted a calzone but she wanted a pizza, and I think by this point I had decided to just give her whatever she wanted. So we split a pizza, I got my two toppings on my side and she got her two on hers. The waitress took the order and then we talked about our miscommunications. We ended up resolving whatever trivial differences we might have had, and even if we hadn't, the ceremonial bringing forth of the pizza would have made everything fine. It comes out piping hot and they serve you your first slice from that elevated pizza tray thing. The pizza was delicious, and my gf wants everyone to know that it reheats well the next day (which she says is an important facet of a good pizza). I don't review the food, but it must be legit because the family next to us were 2nd Gens from New York and the teenagers at another nearby table were speaking native Italian. The ambiance is good for a first date, especially if you have no idea what your date likes. The booths that line the sides of the dining room feel safe and intimate (good for introverts), there's a wine list (to loosen the tongue...for talking), and Italian food is an easy crowd pleaser (unless your date has acid reflux). I've actually heard the wings are pretty good, but don't you dare get wings on your first date. Also, the price for the pizza-split thing with someone comes to just over $30. Oh, another thing my gf wanted me to tell everyone is to not even bother ordering the iced tea. It's way too watered down, so if you do order it make sure that it's a new batch.

The food is surprisingly good. Cannot say enough good things about the clams oreganato. The fettuccini alrfredo is excellent as is the lobster ravioli. I always order the grilled shrimp for a small up charge as they are super yummy. The first time we came here Eddy was our waiter and we always ask for him. The desserts are homemade and fresh.

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Sugary sweet sauce over almost gelatinous crust. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better then this. Seriously, save your money. Go someplace else. It's obvious someone here has gone the quantity over quality route.

I am addicted to their meat lovers stromboli with extra pepperoni. It is absolutely amazing tasting. After running my own pizza shop for a while I have become very picky about my pizza. This stromboli is astounding. A medium could easily feed 2-3 people. Or as I usually do have lunch dinner and breakfast

afraid to go in there based on misinformation from others, we recently tried Zuccarelli's and were surprised to find an excellent meal waiting. We walked in to find the restaurant doing a brisk business. My wife had a coupon from the Pelican for a free glass of wine so that already set the evening up for success. We were served some great garlic rolls and the meal itself were generous portions. My wife and friends all had the chicken park and I enjoyed the Eggplant parm. Being from New York, we were leery of Italian food here in Pompano, but it was as satisfying as a mall back home. I am only sorry it took us six years of driving by Zuccarellis before trying it.

White Hawaiian Pizza & Wings- hump day excellence. A delicious little spot on the south east corner of US1 and the 14th Street Causeway for Italian-American favorites like pizzas, pastas, salads, and sandwiches. Definitely worth a try in you're in the area for take-out lunch or dinner. Entrees averaged $15. A large pizza with some toppings will cost ya around $20.

Food was good...but if we lived here this wouldn't be our favorite place Garlic bread was good but over the top garlic Tortellini with meat sauce was good and the portion was huge Meat lover pizza was good...not great but good. A medium had six large pieces and was way too much for two people. Service was good

I hadn't tried this place even though it's close by because it's just in one of those spots where nothing ever seems to stick around for very long. I noticed it had some good reviews so I gave it a try. Turns out they may have the best pizza in Pompano. The dough has fantastic flavor and texture. I wasn't expecting it to be so good and was pleasantly surprised. There were only about 12 tables in the restaurant but they were all full, a good sign that the rest of their menu is on point as well. I'll have to come in for dinner soon for to get my veal parm fix and see. This is definitely our new pizza spot though. Really good NY style gas fired pizza, with a great value for your dollar.

Zuccarelli's has become one of my go-to neighborhood Italian. Pros: Great food quality, big tasty Chicken Wings, amazing minestrone soup which consists of a delicious broth with loads of fresh veggies with a bit of noodles and it's not too beany. The fettuccine alfredo is creamy and tasty, the penne a la vodka is equally delicious, amazing garlic rolls and fast delivery. Cons: I am very picky about my marinara sauce and I found Zuccarelli's sauce to be a bit too sweet for my liking - next time I will request for less sweet more salt and see if they accommodate my request, also the spinach calzone could use a little more spinach.

Ordered delivery to our hotel two evenings while on vacation. Sandwiches & fries first night were delicious. 2nd night Hawaiian pizza & desserts. All of which were some of the best food we've ever had. I highly recommend this place! Oh! & delivery time was just as they said on the phone, about 45 minutes. Love this place!

Delivery was quick but the bottle of soda was hot and 1/3 empty and I nearly lost it when I found a dead insect in my salad. The lasagna was so-so, calamari ok but my sons liked the meat lovers pizza. Seriously, the bug totally turned me off.

We had the meat lover's calzone and expected something great. It was almost inedible and did not have 3 different meats in it . It was almost all cheese on soggy dough. In fact we threw away the second one. We called to tell them our experience because we thought perhaps there had been a mistake or just a bad one-off. What did we get? Lots of attitude. Never again for us.

Ordered delivery on a whim, one of those nights and yelped this place, decent reviews and not too far away. Prices were better then others close by so we ordered a pizza and was pleasantly surprised! It was really good, not greasy, my husband usually prefers thin crust and I like regular and this was a great combination of the two, crispy but not dry! Not too much sauce not too much cheese just enough toppings, will most definitely order again!

Decent Italian restaurant. Strombolies, the small ones, were huge. Antipasto was decent for two. Beware that you will leave with garlic breath.

Although food was okay, prices are mostly 15$ up for a plate three times smaller than the cheese cake factory or olive garden.Garlic bread is good but with regular oil, not olive oil.

If you're looking for a simple meal: pasta dishes, pizza, Stromboli, etc. this is this the place. Good food, but great service. We had a great time - and they were very accommodating to family with an infant.

Zuccarelli has become our favorite Italian. We have never been disapointed, great food, great service (ask for AJ he's the best). And real good special's, like the seafood special, better than Sea Watch.

We ordered pizza and salad from this eatery while on vacation in Pompano. We had family visit our condo and wanted a quick and easy meal. The hotel location we were staying at had recommended it to us and provided us a 20% off discount coupon. The pizza was below average and VERY greasy. The house special was so greasy, that during the transport of the pizza, the toppings all slid to the side. I have had better pizza and Dominoes, Pizza Hut or even Papa John's. I probably would never eat here again.

Update 4-2012 Sadly the pizza has gone downhill and now mostly matches the rest of the experience. Gave it a few more chances hoping it was just a fluke but after a few sub par pies I've simply given up on this place. Excellent pizza, horrible service. Damn shame as this could be a 4 star pizza joint which isn't easy. I almost gave up on this place twice. My first experience was when I had lasagna dinners delivered. They were extremely small (but the price wasn't) and were almost the worst Italian dinners I've ever had and that is saying a lot, I've been to Olive Garden. But before I write anyone off, I always give the pizza a chance just in case. So we ate in for dinner. First off the place was really messy. Empty tables with dishes on them that didn't get bussed or wiped down properly. Our waitress actually sat us at a dirty table and simply put down place settings without wiping it down. I was kinda shocked and asked if the table could be cleaned. She told me it didn't need it but was willing to do it any way and then of course she put the same place settings down. I was not impressed. If you want a refill, a plate to eat your garlic rolls, a clean fork, some Parmesan cheese or anything like that, DO NOT wait for the waitress and attempt to get her attention and ask her. We made that mistake for several minutes, finally I said the hell with it and it became a self serve restaurant. The two waitresses are far more interested in their personal conversation than in anything you want or need. Amazingly she actually brought us the pizza,.saving me from having to go get it for myself and it really was excellent. The only downside of the meal was the Coke is either not really Coke or it's incredibly flat, both of which are unacceptable to me as a Coke makes the meal and I try to frequent only establishments with Coke products. We have dined in only one time since, just to give it a chance and we got the "other" waitress and while she seemed nicer than the first, she also really couldn't give a damn about doing her job competently or correctly. It was mostly self serve night again. I stopped in for lunch one day and some guy was waiting tables who was competent, too bad he doesn't work nights. Since then we have gotten every pizza "to go" and simply brought it home, excellent pizza and the Coke is right. I haven't tried anything else on the menu after the lasagna, I don't understand how the pizza can be so good and the other meals can be so bad. Managers, if you are reading this, check your Coke and fire your waitresses.

All I've had was pizza by the slice and I think it's pretty good. It's not quite NY/NJ good, but really what in FL is? It's the best I've found in the Pompano area. I have not had any of their other dishes so I don't feel right giving a five star review based solely on pizza. When I do I will update my review.

I am usually very wary about ordering an entree at a restaurant that features pizza, however, Zuccarelli's is the exception. I ordered the shrimp with broccoli and it was excellent. The shrimp were very large and perfectly cooked. The pasta and broccoli were also done very well, and the sauce was excellent. My wife had the chicken also liana and she loved it. Food was fresh, very well prepared, the servings were large, and the service was excellent. They exceeded my expectations.

We went here on basis of good reviews, but were disappointed. We went on Wed eve at 6:30. Place was about 1/2 full, quickly seated. Waitress was pretty good and attentive, w/2 criticisms to make: she didn't ask my preference for sauce on the side pasta (per the check I had a choice), and she neither offered to add extra cheese to our dishes (not a policy of this restaurant?) nor made sure we had a shaker bottle to add our own (we grabbed one off of adjacent table). The garlic rolls were great. Included house salads (could have elected soup) were fresh, nice mix, ample size. My Chicken Rosini w/chicken, ham, fresh tomato slices and melted cheese was pretty bland and watery, w/few thin/small slices of ham and little cheese. My wife thought the Shrimp Parmigiana sounded a bit different but the shrimp could very well have been chicken: the heavy breading and frying plus the sauce and cheese overwhelmed any shrimp texture and taste. The marinara sauce was also kind of bland. The place is not large (appr 50 seats?) but does a big carryout business; this was reason given for our entrees taking so long to arrive (waitress brought that up, we hadn't complained).

Zuccarelli recently opened a new restaurant in Pompano, taking the place of the failed Nick's. This poor location seems to be cursed, because nothing lasts here very long. On our visit here, service was spotty. Even though it was not busy, and the restaurant is small, we had to wait a bit longer than we should have for things like water or napkins. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, and were a little disappointed to find out they were the exact same kind that Arby's serves. It's not that they taste bad, it's just that I expect more of an Italian restaurant than for them to buy these frozen things from a supplier. Our spirits brightened once we tasted their garlic rolls. They were delicious, and rivaled the best rolls in the area (from Gianni's). When it came time to order for our meal, I asked how big the calzone was. She made it sound relatively small, so I ordered it, saying how I didn't want a gigantic one. And when the food came out... viola, it's a humongous calzone (I could only eat about a third of it). It was decent... perhaps a little bland. I had considered ordering a slice of the sicilian pizza instead, and I regretted that. I can't say our experience was great, but rather just middle-of-the-road. I think I'll stick to ordering pizza if I come back here.

The service, selection and food were great and we would definitely eat here again. We ate here after going into Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza and walking out because their menu lacked selection and the pizza looked paper thin and burnt around the edges. I got a good vibe just walking up to the door, it like the windows, looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in some time. My thinking is their onus is on the food. The menu has an abundance of familiar Italian selections to choose from. I like not needing an interpreter or having to settle for something out of a lack of selections. They start you off with some garlic rolls which were exceptionally tasty and hot out of the oven. My wife had a salad that I was green over. It was as fresh as it gets and she wasn't sharing more than a fork full. I'm not big on salads, but will definately order my own next visit. The dressing reminded me of what they serve at The Olive Garden, only better. The pizza, on a scale of one to five with five being the best, was a 4.5. This is a non-chain restaurant. The interior has plenty of seating, it's casual in attire and the decor is nothing special, however, if it's an enjoyable meal you're in pursuit of, it's worth a try. Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
